Simple Solution

You know some YouTube videos, especially the older ones, tend to have a lag between image and sound...? If it's just 1 sec or so, and the expression and timing of the opening and closing of the person's mouth is still more or less accurate, I wouldn't really bother. But sometimes when it lags for quite a bit and the person you see speaking is already totally different from the voice you hear, it gets hard to follow the whole video properly.

In this rare occasion that I'm not sharing something about my life in my blog, I want to tell you a simple solution to this problem. Maybe because your brain works in a more normal and logical way than mine (something not hard to achieve, because my brain's logic is never normal), you probably already thought about this "solution" AGES ago. But for those of you who haven't, I hope you'll find this helpful.

I used to (we're talking primary school - high school years here) record the sound of the video with the pc sound recorder in a quiet room first and then replay it by muting the original video and matching it with the sound. COMPLICATED right? Oh well I already told you, my brain is as silly as silly can be.

Anyway, I encountered this problem again today and it's been years since I intended to "solve" this, being complacent with minor lagging all along. But today I was confronted by "major lagging", which was still OK but just made the whole funny video less interesting. So I thought about my old solution, the recording one, and it felt like just too much trouble just for a short video clip. Then I thought instead of recording, maybe I could download the whole video and play the "sound" part with that. Then it struck me --- instead of downloading the video to play it, why not just open another same webpage?!

Haha... My brain is really illogical sometimes. What people have already thought of from the start, I need to think from the end of the line and progress to the start.

Oh well so there you have it, that's what I realised today. Just open two webpages of the same video and play one then play the other to sync it. Not as hard to sync as you would imagine, just 2 tries in 10seconds and I got it working perfectly. So happy with the result that I felt the need to share, hahaha!

Sometimes, certain seemingly complicated problems actually have a simple solution to them. I just need to get my brain thinking straight. :)
